Champions

Beaumont Crowned Safer Neighbourhood Champions

The eagerly awaited Safer Neighbourhood Football Tournament returned at Victoria Park on Sunday with the Final on Monday at the Mile End Stadium. With 32 teams competing in a knockout tournament, it was the biggest of its kind. Last years champions, Stepney went out in the first round alongside potential winners Mohammadan. Beaumont made their way through the day, beating Newark and Shadwell in the closing stages.

The final saw Beaumont come up against Bromley, an upcoming and improving team, so it was not much of a surprise to be paired with them. In a thrilling final, watched by a bouyont set of over 300 spectators, Beaumont were crowned champions after Aaron slotted home in the first half. There were patches where Bromley looked dangerous, but Beaumont controlled the majority of the game and were unlucky not to have a bigger scoreline.
